Several weeks ago we wrote about the cultural divide between those that have embraced a Socialist Philosophy to approach life versus those that have adopted a Conservative (actually to be accurate it is Classical Liberalism) Philosophy to approach life.
We made the point that there is a "Culture War" raging in America today. Not a new concept, I believe Rush Limbaugh coined the phrase about 20+ years ago. Based upon the feedback I have received from those people on the Left, the vitriol, I would have to conclude that I was correct.
Of course there has been just the opposite reaction from Conservatives. Many attempting to spread the word to "put a human face" to those that are impacted by Obama's Passage of Socialized Medicine. The ironic thing is that the Conservatives addressed the "plight" of the author while Liberals spouted on about how insulting the views about those on the Left were. The reason this seems particularly "entertaining" is because Liberals are always talking about "compassion." They are always talking about how "everyone" is "entitled" to everything. Well, apparently NOT if you don't share their views. I ask you, how is that tolerant? How is that compassionate? Where is the "everything for everyone" mentality when someone disagrees with you? Smells like hypocrisy to me.
There is also the same intolerance by the Left towards Christian values as well as Conservative Philosophy. Look at the whole Chick fil-a fiasco. Man owns a company, is a Christian, is a Conservative, is asked how he feels about Homosexual Unions and the next thing you know the Left wants to shut the guy down! Wow, whatever happened to freedom of religion and freedom of speech? Well, if you read the series we just completed on the conversion of this country from a Republic to a Nanny State, you would know that Progressives don't really believe in adhering to the Constitution.
What cracks me up about Lefties is they use scripture to defend their views. What is appalling about that is they have the same contempt for Scripture as they do the Constitution. They also have about the same knowledge of Scripture as the Constitution, they believe it is a living, breathing entity that adapts to time and place. Thus reducing Scripture to their twisted view of moral relativism. Again, there are NO constants, everything, including morality is relative.
Lets set the record straight, Jesus said to love your brother, (note: not everyone is your brother) to encourage them. He also told us how to judge others, that we could tell them by their fruit, that is to say, by what they said and did compared to what Jesus said for us to do. He told us to help others if we were fortunate enough to do so (charity), NOT to take forcibly from those who had more and give it to others. Jesus said it was wrong to steal. Jesus said to render unto Cesar what is Cesar's, He didn't tell us we had to like it, or that we couldn't redress issues with the Government. Jesus never told us we were entitled to anything. What we all deserve is death. Why? Because we are sinful by nature, rebellious. Christians are not perfect, they are forgiven. Progressives/Secular Humanists/Spiritualists are the modern day equivalent of the Pharisees.
Those that profess to be gods (Morgan Freeman) are the true hypocrites. Those that profess to be Christians as though it were some sort of legacy that was passed on from one generation to the next, like being a fan of a local team, or because they were splashed with water as an infant, yet know nothing of His teachings, who misrepresent what Christ said, I contend, are wolves in sheep's clothing. Now, I will acknowledge that there are many who would disagree with me on this. Those that disagree would say they are fools, or just plain lost. However, I contend that they are so spiritually ignorant, whether intentionally or not, if as a result of apathy, if as a result of intellectual dishonesty and/or laziness, are a danger to themselves and to others. They are not necessarily ravenous like Satan, wandering the street looking for innocent souls to consume, but by their ignorance, by their apathy, by their misrepresentation of what Christ said, I contend they are de facto wolves.
Just as we have often said The Constitution is the Secular Bible of this country, Progressives distort both. Intending to strip them of their meaning, by "interpreting" both as "living organisms" as opposed to an "owners manual" to approach life politically and spiritually.
Simple litmus test: Guy says he's a Christian. Ask him, is Homosexuality ok? Is it ok to have practicing Homosexuals as Pastors? Is it ok to allow Homosexual "marriage?" Do all nice/good/decent people go to Heaven? Is there a Hell? What about Hindu's, Buddhists, Zoroastrians, Pantheists, Druids, etc. if they are good people, if they really believe what they believe, do they go to Heaven? Is Jesus the only way to God? Was Jesus just a prophet? Is the bible the inspired Word of God? Is the path to Salvation by Grace, through Faith and not by works? The answers to these questions will tell you to whom you are speaking, a fool/wolf, or an actual Christian. Maybe a misled wolf, but certainly not someone who knows the Truth that Christ taught. They have "big teeth" whether they are aware of it or not.
Jesus said I am the way the truth and the Life, no one comes to the father but through me. Jesus also said that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son so that none should perish, but have everlasting life. Pretty clear, but if you choose to think Jesus was a nice guy, a prophet, or that there is some other truth, that truth and morality are relative, then you have chosen Plan B. The unfortunate realty is that good people choose to go to Hell every day.
You can save the whales, love your kids, go to bake sales, join PETA, vote for Socialized Medicine because it is caring/compassionate, give blood, help puppies and kittens, help young women get abortions, you can embrace tolerance, encourage the Homosexual agenda, campaign to remove the oppressive, misogynist God from every arena of public life, try to insulate youth from the consequence of their actions, or adults for that matter (look at Joe Paterno at Penn St.) and all those other nice, compassionate, enlightened things that Liberals do, and if you choose that path to "salvation" , well you've chosen Plan B. Tough isn't it? Unfair? Rigid? Judgemental? Don't blame me, I'm not the one who made the rules. Those are His rules, you don't like it, curse God and die. Or, you can change. I did! First a Commie, then a Fabian Socialist, an atheist, you name it, completely lost, God does allow u-turns. Me, not as patient, but I ain't God and that matters a lot! One thing: you gotta be honest with yourself. Look at yourself and your life critically. Keep an open mind, which is difficult for Progressives as I am well aware.
Now, I personally don't like to mix religion and politics. I know several atheists that are Conservative politically. Most Libertarians are militantly atheist, I agree with them politically, but not spiritually. They are not as big a problem as Progressives/Spiritualists/ Self Proclaimed Christians, who go around telling everyone Jesus was a Commie. That there is nothing wrong with taking as much as possible from everyone and spreading the wealth. There is nothing wrong with Homosexuality. There is no absolute truth, or "the Jesus you preach isn't forgiving, isn't tolerant." Jesus had no time for Pharisees. Remember the money changers at the Temple?
Jesus never said any of those things above were correct. Don't believe me, read what He said. Bottom line is folks, Eternal Life is a choice, it's a limited menu. You don't like it, talk to the Author. Not my plan.
Look, I don't agree with you if you are choosing Plan B. But, I still believe you have the right to be wrong. That's your choice. Do not however call yourself a Christian. Do not tell me you believe I have the right to say, do and believe as I do then try to shut me up/down when I do exert my God given Inalienable Rights.
Progressives have one intention, to gut the meaning of both the Constitution and Scripture. To render them both meaningless and instead replace them both with a God less, Totalitarian Regime. That is NOT America, and I will not go quietly into that good night, nor will I live a life of quiet desperation. I will wage a war of words against Progressives as long as I have breath in me. That is my duty.
