Interesting watching the GOP Debate last night. We still have "politicians" and not too many statesman up there. Romney and Perry attacking one another and quite frankly feeding their egos was disconcerting. Even Bachmann, seeing her early lead evaporate and getting very little attention last night was obviously distressed and getting "political".
Of all the people up there last night the ONLY ones who gave direct answers to direct questions were Gov Johnson (N.M.), Senator Santorum (PA), Congressman Paul (TX) and Mr. Cain. Like their answers or not, if you really want to move ahead and put government behind us and their ineptitude in running our lives, these were the only 4 men that seem capable of doing anything about it.
The rest are just politicians, talking heads guided by their political consultants to make minor changes. We have been on the Road to Socialism and it will take quite a reversal to turn things around. We need someone Conservative, experienced, principled. Someone who has been saying what they have been saying for a while now and not just for votes.
Congressman Paul and Gov. Johnson are two such examples as is Mr. Cain, for different reasons, but two are successful statesman and one a successful businessman, and Mr. Cain is a social conservative as well.
Well, we still have over a year until the election, that is eternity in Politics. What does disturb me is the Republican electorate, more concerned with who is "electable" then who is a true Conservative. If you're too young to remember Ronald Reagan was viewed as a long shot and a joke, look what happened there? The nations greatest period of GDP growth in its history, that seems precisely what we need right now.
