What was his problem Libs will ask? Was he dropped on his head by a Commie as a baby?
Well, was he? Answer-no. Were there any Commies after all? What did he unearth while in the Senate and serving on the Senate Internal Security Committee (ISC)?
Lets take a look at the facts (ooops, there go the Liberals in the audience).
First on the block is Dr. Oscar Shaftel a dentist in the Army. Or as he was called by the Democrats on the ISC, the "pink" dentist. This pinko dentist was brought before the Senate ISC and he pleaded the 5th. So, there is no testimony from the dentist.
However, it was revealed under oath by an Economics Professor at Queens College that Shaftel was indeed a member of the Communist Party.
Other Soviet Operatives found by Sen. McCarthy were T.A. Bisson, Maty Jane Keeney, Cedric Belfrage, Solomon Adler, Franz Neumann, Leonard Mins, Gustavo Duran and William Remington.
It is interesting to note that Remington was killed in prison, found with a bar of soap in his mouth, the victim of a patriotic prisoner. Ah, for the good old days.
It's amazing! How many of you know this? Fifty years of Liberal history revisionism has wiped out the truth. The Soviets were right in encouraging the American Left to seize control of the media and the Educational system. They are evil, but they are NOT dumb.
The government has always been inept with enemies from within, look at Van Jones today? It was no different nearly 60 years ago either. Case in point, 1953 and the Communist dentist in the Army, Irving Peress. There were warning issued about him by his co-workers. It was said in official reports that he was "untrustworthy" and "disloyal", in fact his co-workers believed he was trying to create a Commie cell right on base. What did the Army do? They promoted him!
Sound familiar?
Realize that the Rosenberg's used Peress and another McCarthy target, Harry Gold and Ethel Rosenberg's own brother, who worked for the Army in N.M.
There was also Annie Lee Moss who Liberal reporter Edward R. Murrow used to attack McCarthy and painted him as "cruel". So you see, this "sensitivity" at the expense of the truth is not a new thing. They didn't call it "political correctness", but it was the same method. Then, like now, journalists did not check their sources, if they had they would have found that Moss was in fact registered as a member of the Communist Party USA. Communist Party USA records indicated her name and address on their records.
One famous technique in the Democratic led Senate hearing of Senator McCarthy, was the call for him to name, names. You see what McCarthy said was this was an investigation and did not want to name names. He did not want to impugn anyone. He did not want to have public hearings. He wanted this all to be done behind closed doors, it was the Democrats that made them public, and used Sen. McCarthy's reticence to impugn anyone to their advantage, in an effort to advance their Liberal agenda. Things have not changed folks, this is why we can learn from history.
Another Liberal revision to history are the infamous "black lists" of Hollywood people. The defense used by Democrats to call anyone "un-patriotic" or "treasonous" began int he 50's. Forget the fact that the people accused actually did belong to the Communist Party or were avid haters of America. That wasn't important, again, don;t let a little thing like facts get in the way! So now whenever someone like Oliver Stone says we should nationalize the oil industry, or Sean Penn says that Hugo Chavez has the right idea, or when Michael Moore claims Cuban health care to be the best in the world, we can cry Commie, because they rant and rave McCarthyism at the top of their lungs!
You know, just to clarify, the Hollywood Black Lists were created by the House un-American Activities Committee. That is the House, Joe McCarthy was in the Senate. He had nothing to do with creating those lists! Little bit of history there you won;t read int he history books.
By the way, the truth (not that it seems to matter anymore) all the folks on the Hollywood Black List were in fact found later to be members of the Communist Party.
Remember that prominent journalists of the time, like I.F.Stone, who regularly attacked the Senator (like Joe Klein and Glenn Beck today) was found out to be a Communist! Again, lets not have truth get in the way here!
By the way, all of these statements about people who were found to be Commies, the use of the word "pinko" and statements about people in this report being found out to be Soviet operatives or members of the Communist Party-NOT MERE CONJECTURE.
SOURCE OF SOURCES-when the Soviet Union fell in 1991 the KGB files were opened in 1992 and it was found through these files that all the people mentioned here and investigated by Joe McCarthy were indeed Communist or actual Soviet agents on the payroll of the KGB in the 40's and 50's!!!
So you see, once again, fact, not fiction. The only fiction was the Democrats proffering that these people were innocents being led to the slaughter!
The KGB files further revealed that there were actually 300 Soviet agents working in the U.S. government at that time. Joe claimed only to have 205. If anyone should be angry at Joe McCarthy it should be Conservatives for not finding out about the other 95 Commies!
Instead, what have we had for the past 50 years? Liberal history revisionism. How many of the history books have been edited to include this fact discovered about the Soviet Union, from their own files, after 1992? Also, where is the reporting from ABC, CBS, NBC, Washington Post, New York Times, about this? Don't hold your breath waiting for those retractions!
Now we come to the famous Welch attack on Joe McCarthy. You know it, we have all seen it, except for folks educated in California.
What is interesting about this clip is you NEVER see Senator McCarthy's response. In that response Sen. McCarthy pointed out the following about Mr. Welch's staff member:
"we should call to your attention to the fact that your Mr. Fisher, who is still in your lay firm today, whom you asked to have down here looking over the secret and classified material, is a member of an organization, not named by me, but named by the Attorney General, I quote this verbatim 'as the legal bulwark of the Communist Party.' He belonged to that organization for a sizable number of years, according to his own admission, and he belonged to it long after it had been exposed as the legal arm of the Communist Party"
So in the common vernacular of today, Sen. McCarthy schooled Mr. Welch.
History, and facts revealed from KGB files after the fall of the Soviet Union, revealed that Senator McCarthy was correct!
What did Liberals do? They did what they always do when faced with facts and truth, they responded with emotionalism. Edward R. Murrow himself had a Soviet agent on his staff, a Laurence Duggan. Together they prepared a "hatchet job" on the Senator that pulled at the heartstrings of America. What did the people do? What they always did and what they still do today, they fell for it!
Liberals always go for the tear and not the mind, because they don't have the facts to support them.
Now why are we even bothering with this, a story that is nearly 60 years old? For one simple reason, to expose the Left for what they are and to expose their techniques. The left will say and do anything to advance their agenda, and once they have a foothold in your "heart" they will build a fortress there. A fortress built on lies.
Remember, once again, these folks listed today are all on the KGB files, records that reveal that everyone McCarthy was investigating was in fact a Communist!
Look at today. Look at the Sherrod case. The dinosaur media are claiming it was a hatchet job by FOX news.
FACT: It was the NAACP that filmed Miss Sherrod and released the tapes and NOT secret FOX news operatives "planted" int he audience.
FACT: Miss Sherrod was fired before the story ever even ran on FOX! As a matter of fact the White House says they wanted her out because it would run on Glenn Beck that night! It was the White House over reaction that cost Miss Sherrod her job.
FACT: Glenn Beck was the first one to get the full tape and was the first to speak of the "context" as Miss Sherrod was talking about her own struggles with racism, and it was Glenn Beck that called for Miss Sherrod to be re-hired. [SIDE NOTE: WE ALSO GOT THE STORY RIGHT HERE AT THE GREENE OPINION]
Look at the stories that are NOT covered by the Dinosaur media:
- Van Jones membership in the Communist Party and STORM (group that calls for the violent overthrow of the government) and his claiming the Bush administration was behind the September 11th attacks.
- ACORN member Bill Ayers and his role in the Obama Administration.
- the false claims by Obama and AG Holder about "racial profiling" in the AZ immigration law.
- The Black Panther Civil Rights case being dismissed. Heck Bob Schieffer claims he never even heard about it!
- The hidden Gold Tax in the Obamacare bill that requires you to register all purchases over $600 and requires the same of small business.
- The Presidential Assassination Program which allows the Federal Government to assassinate American citizens without due process.
We are told that these are not real news issues, really, and Lindsay Lohan going to jail is? A Communist int he West Wing is not news? The President of the U.S.A. authorizing the assassination of U.S. citizens without a trial is not news?
Remember folks it was Edmund Burke who said “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” Also remember that is was Napoleon who said "I fear the newspapers more than a hundred thousand bayonets."
Remember this well America, or Senator McCarthy may not be the only victim of Left Wing propaganda. It could very well be our freedom and Liberty that join the Senator.
Rest well Senator McCarthy and take solace in the fact that you were right.
